At the end of last year, extreme Metal provocateurs,Cattle Decapitation, released a compilation album titled "Medium Rarities" which features rare tracks from the band's career.
Its appetizing cover artwork was designed by American artist, Wes Benscoter, who has been collaborating with Cattle Decapitation since their 2002 album, "To Serve Man."

"This cover is actually something that was created specifically for this release back when we came up with the idea 10 years ago," explains vocalist, Travis Ryan. "I had to sit on this monstrosity for a decade before being able to unleash it on the public which hurt greatly. Its such a great piece of art. I'm very happy people seem to like it so much!"

Ryan also reveals that the concept "was actually Wes' idea. Since it was just a rarities compilation and not an actual album I had less of an emotional and artistic stake in it so I left the ball in Wes' court. I believe this was his first idea and it was tongue-in-cheek enough to work with the album title, which is rather cheeky itself. The end result is rather striking."

"Medium Rarities" is now available via Metal Blade Records at:
